While I was working in LA last week, Anastazja attended the Neiman Marcus Fall Shoe preview– here’s her report from the front lines of footwear. xo – R
Armed with a small camera and my favorite pair of Sam Edelman flats, I marched into the Neiman Marcus Walnut Creek fall shoe preview, OH MY GOSH! …. Shoes! Everywhere I looked, glorious shoes!
I scanned the room and saw the names of the designers: Christian Louboutin, Aquazurra, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Jimmy Choo. I grew all to excited to slip my foot into some of these newly created masterpieces. Sadly as it turns out, the store only had visual samples. I did take pictures and made notes of trends to watch out for this fall. I hope you enjoy, Foxes!
Four Fall Footwear Trends to Try
Go Crazy for Animal Prints
Style tip: Animal prints are neutrals and match with any color, as well as are a great choice for pattern mixing. Accessories like shoes are a great choice for adding a pop of pattern or some edge to you look.
Be All About the Details
Style tip: Think of details like this zipper the way you would jewelry. The shine will attract the eye and you can play it up or down as much as you’d like.
Get Sexy with Ankle Straps
Style tip: Ankle straps look best if they fall below or above the ankle. This the the best way to make sure they don’t cut you off in an unflattering way.
Rock a Chunky Heel
Style tip: Chunky heels make a statement. To keep your look in balance, pair with tailored or leg-lengthening styles to avoid “clunky.”
I Couldn’t Leave Without Trying Something On…
As you can see, the shoes were just beautiful! Though I was unable to try on any of the preview shoes, I did try Neiman’s most popular shoe for the summer, CHANEL espadrilles. They were so comfy and this cobalt blue (also comes in tan and black) would add a pop of color to almost any outfit. They’re a splurge, but at around $580, it’s a great shoe at a good designer price.
